China Opens RMB 475.6 Million International Research Funding Programme

On 30 October 2026, China's Ministry of Science and Technology opened the first batch of its 2027 National R&D Plan for international scientific and technological cooperation. The programme covers 10 research areas involving eight countries and international organisations, with approximately 118 projects expected to receive a combined central-government allocation of RMB 475.6 million. The programme creates opportunities for universities, research institutions, technical consultants and international academic partners. HPC can support research organisations with scientific computing, data analytics, AI research infrastructure and digital collaboration platforms.
